That never happened!
There is a recent live action adaptation of Blood: the last Vampire, but I don't know if it's any good...

Re: Anime into Real life movies
Theres tons of them. If you are talking just about Hollywood movies, the field is a bit thinner however, off the top of my head:
Hollywood:
Dragonball
Aeon Flux
AstroBoy(kinda)
Non-Hollywood:
Old Boy(one of my favorite movies of all time)
Death Note
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
Battle Royale
Boogiepop Phantom
Casshern
Great Teacher Onizuka
Iria: Zeiram the Animation
Maybe that Helps. Out of all of the movies on those lists Old Boy is about 100x better than all the rest of them. Even without the bias, that's a pretty easy call as it is ranked #116th all time on IMDB.

I heard something about Cowboy Bebop. Keanu Reeves is supposedly playing the role of Spike.

"2) Death Note ( bad just bad)"
Are you insane? The DN Films were just as good as the Anime. The ending is the only major changed and Anime's wasn't that good in the first place.
Anyway:
Live-Action Vampire Hunter D in the works.
Live Action Gantz Scans are available so a movie Is a high probability.
The Last Airbender.
Live Action of Akira in the works.
The Live-Action Evangellion is still a possibility.
The Second “20th Century Boys” Live Action
Initial D(Available Dubbed)
Bubblegum Crisis Live Action Movie in Pre-Production
Robotech
Live Action Ninja Scroll Movie in the Works!
Live Action Kitaro (Coming to America)

Re: Anime into Real life movies
Has anyone mentioned the live action BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad movie yet? Because that TOTALLY deserves to be awesome. It looks it, at least, for anyone who's seen the anime. Thoughts? ^_^
Check it out, if you're curious or loved the anime as much as I did: http://www.beck-movie.jp/index.html

First I would like to state that I did not watch the anime...
Second under it's own circumstances I can see it can be enjoyable but then not so much for me.
Death Note is a dialog heavy story with spy vs spy being the main drive force to continue on.. It is the manga that adapts this so well (IMO). I
Third, I also felt that the pacing was way to fast for my taste especially for something like Death Note. Not to mention they got the characters all wrong namely Light's father.
As a side note and another post I like to contribute something on where I represent. As the chinese guy in the forums I contribute this movie Initial D.
