Abridged Serieses: What do you think of 'em?

I personally am madly in love with parodies of abridged serieses. Yugioh Abridged was of course the first one I watched and I've been in love with them ever since.

However, I know that other people are mortally offended by abridged serieses because they feel that they make light of the animes they're slavishly devoted to. And I can see how they'd think that, after watching some of the terrible ones that are out there.

So yeah, what do you guys think of them?

I am not too serious about my anime to not get a good laugh from it.

True, there are animes which have greatly impacted me based upon their stories. But that's all anime is, just a collection of stories. It's like a good book, you read it, like it, talk about it and perhaps read it again some day. For me it's never been a life-changing event or a deep spiritual experience, because well, like I said, they are just stories.

Not to mention, I'm able to see, by not being so linked to these animes that there is some really "crazy, wtf, did that just happen?" Moments in them. Like, one of my favorite animes, Utena. They swordfight, with cars? And there's an upsiedown castle, in the sky? I mean there's a ton that can be made fun of there.

So in other words, I don't mind anime parodies like I don't mind any parodies. So long as they are tasteful, and do not resort to racial slurs, extreme profanity, or just about all the other jokes that just aren't funny (which would upset me in any parody) I don't mind, or in fact like them in many cases.

I personally love Vision of Escaflowne Abridged and D. Gray-man Abridged. They're both brilliant.

Yugioh Abridged is a classic and it's still brilliant. I can't wait for the next episodes. And watch Yu Yu Hakusho Abridged, because it was done by a friend of mine and it's really good. Epic Plug.
